FACELIFT/NECKLIFT PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT:
Dr. Rizk's philosophy is a customized facelift and necklift with jawline and cheek definition. Dr. Rizk does many different types of facelift and necklift surgery and customizes the lift to your face and degree of aging. One lift does not fit all patients and Dr. Rizk does not have a "signature procedure" because each face is different.
Dr. Rizk's philosophy in his lifts is a natural lift which avoids the "pulled" look of older skin lifts. He also does a facelift which not only makes a patient look YOUNGER, but also MORE ATTRACTIVE. This is an important concept because Dr. Rizk's facelifts also reposition volume from the jowls into the cheeks. He lifts in the deeper layers which encompass not only skin and muscle, but ALSO jowl FAT. This repositioning of volume is important because it creates definition, rather than just "tightness" and it looks more natural. The loose muscles in the neck are pulled and tightened behind the ears and also in the middle under the chin from a small incision under the chin.
Dr. Rizk also pioneered the use of 3-Dimentional high definition telescope systems to visualize the face better in the deeper planes, making it a much safer procedure which avoids blood vessels and other structures. With this 3D telescope technology, the scars are smaller and the recuperation is faster because the surgery becomes very precise. Rapid recovery is just as important for Dr. Rizk's New York City Park Avenue practice as is a natural and long-lasting result.
Widely respected for his advanced minimally invasive application of ground breaking surgical techniques, Dr. Sam Rizk's approach is based on philosophy that each individual procedure is tailored and customized to the individual needs of each patient. He uses minimally invasive endoscopic techniques to reduce downtime. Dr. Rizk is focused not only on a natural result but also on the speed of a patient's recovery. To optimize this intent Dr. Rizk uses preoperative as well as intraoperative and postoperative minimally invasive techniques and medications to achieve this rapid healing.

Facelift Before & After
May 15th, 2013
It depends what type of injury you sustained and when you sustained it. In any case, the injury needs to be evaluated by your facial plastic surgeon. But this does not mean you will need another facelift.
In the first six weeks after a face lift, an injury to the face needs to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine if any surgical touch-up treatment is needed. For example, if the injury affected your incisions, this will need to be addressed.
If the injury occurred six weeks or more after your facelift, it will likely be treated as would any injury to face. Your surgeon will examine you to determine if there are any bony or soft tissue injuries that need to be treated.
If you injured your face after a facelift, contact your surgeon immediately for instructions on how to proceed.
In what situations is it not possible to get a facelift?
April 29th, 2013
There are a number of situations and conditions that may preclude you from having a facelift. Generally speaking, good candidates for facelift are non-smokers in good physical and mental health with realistic expectations.
If you currently smoke and are interested in having a facelift, you need to quit smoking well in advance of surgery. Most surgeons won’t even consider performing cosmetic surgery on patients who smoke.
If you suffer any of the following, facelift may not be for you:
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- Bleeding disorders
- Obesity
- High cholesterol
- Diabetes
- Severe allergies
- Lung/heart disease
- Arthritis
Patients with diminished skin elasticity (typically older patients) are not good candidates for facelift.
Face lift is an amazing procedure that can have a dramatic results, but it’s not for everyone. It will not transform your life, so if this is your expectation, you probably aren’t a good candidate for the procedure.
Also, some patients are better suited to other procedures such as neck lift or brow lift. Younger patients can often benefit from a less-invasive facial rejuvenation procedure.
If you are interested in having a facelift, schedule a consultation with Dr. Rizk to learn if you are a good candidate.

| A 33 year old Latino male patient looking for a more balanced facial appearance receives rhinoplasty, necklift and a chin implant in order to achieve a more defined appearance. Dr. Sam Rizk performed a special muscle tuck under the chin with 3d telescopes to achieve a better result than with just normal liposuction. This procedure is done with only a small incision under the chin and does not involve incisions around the ears. | |

Dr. Rizk is an expert facial plastic surgeon from New York. He is one of the most searched facial plastic surgeons on the internet regarding natural-looking, safe, and effective facelifts. In the Wall Street Journal article, Dr. Rizk suggests potential patients to check before and after photos of prospective surgeons and say “You’re looking to see what their idea of beauty is. See, you can end up at a technically expert surgeon and be disappointed, if your version of beauty is different than his”. Dr. Rizk’s asks “How do you intend to get a natural-looking result?” and answers “you are looking for a surgeon who tells you specifically, that he is doing a lift of both the skin and underlying muscle – which takes extra skill and training, but generally creates a face-lift that lasts longer and avoids the bad face-lift/wind-tunnel appearance”.

April 30th, 2012
In an article published by GRAZIA Magazine, Dr. Sam Rizk, an expert from New York City on facial plastic surgery discusses celebrity plastic surgery and the facial plastic surgeon performed on Cameron Diaz. Dr. Rizk commented on Cameron Diaz’s “pillow face surgery” that she undergone and his expert opinion suggests it could have been due to either overdone fat or cheek implants. He says unless she had a lot of fillers, the swelling on her face is most likely not because of it. He suggests it could be due to laser resurfacing procedures which can cause temporary swelling on the face.
